The day our lives changed FOREVER.

Our two little boys came into the
world on 2/21/12.
We feel so blessed to be able to be a mommy and a daddy
to these sweet little boys.
They are our whole world and we are so happy to
have them as part of our little family.

It all began on Tuesday, 2/21/12 in the morning.
I went in for my routine doctor's appointment.
My doctor told me that i was already 1 cm dilated and about 50% effaced.
I was 35 weeks at this time and she told me that she
wanted to get me to at least 36 weeks before even thinking
about delivering the boys.
At this point i was feeling really uncomfortable and wanted to get
the babies out already!

After my doctor's appointment, i went to my routine ultrasound and NST.
I did my ultrasound and everything looked good.
After that, i went and did my NST.
By this time, i was having contractions every 2 to 3 minutes and they
were starting hurt and i was really uncomfortable.
They took my blood pressure and noticed that it was high and that it kept
going up as well.
They called my doctor and my doctor sent me to the hospital
to monitor me. They were worried that i might have had
preclampsia so they wanted to test me right away.

As i was laying in the hospital bed, i was secretly hoping that they
would let me deliver the babies that day. However, they told me that they
just wanted to keep me for 24 hours for a urine analysis to monitor my blood pressure
and then they wanted to send me home after that. We were bummed, but we
wanted to do what was best for the babies.

I was still having contractions about every 2 to 3 minutes. My doctor checked to see if i had dilated anymore at about 5:00 p.m. and i was still at a 1. By about 7:45 p.m. that night, they came in to check me again and at this point i was at 4 cm! Since i was having a c-section, they did not want me to dilate anymore than that. They called my doctor and told her and she told them to prep me for the c-section and that we were going to be having the babies that night! Our hearts started racing. We couldn't believe that the time had come to meet our little boys!

They put me in a wheel chair and we walked to the surgical room. They told Trevor to wait
outside until they got me prepped and ready to go which made me sad. They pushed me into the room and it seriously felt like i was walking into a dream. Nothing felt real at all and i started to get really scared and nervous. I hadn't done anything like this before! They gave me the epidural and my whole body from my shoulders down went completely numb. I felt like my whole body was paralyzed and helpless. They did some other things to get me ready and then they finally brought Trevor into the room.
I was so relieved to have him there because i was freaking out and wanted him there with me.

They started the procedure and about 5 minutes into the procedure, at 8:50 p.m., our little Brody Scott Nichols entered the world screaming away. Then about a couple seconds later little Jace Michael Nichols followed him and our little family was complete. Both babies came out great with no complications. Thank goodness! Our hearts melted as we heard them both make their first cries. It was such an amazing feeling to know that these babies were ours and that we had finally become parents to two little boys.

We are learning day by day how to raise these boys and provide for them.
Most days have been tough, but it has all been worth it.
We couldn't imagine life with out our Brody and Jace. We love you
little boys and feel so privileged to be your mommy and daddy for forever.
We love your sweet little smiles and the way you look at us with those big eyes.
You make us the happiest parents in the world and we just love you to death.

Trevor and I, as well as Brody and Jace, want to thank everyone who has helped us out
so much since the babies were born. We couldn't have done it without you all. We love you!!
